Deca koji kreću 01.09.2011. godine u prvi razred osnovne škole, po sadašnjim zakonima bi trebalo da rade do 2064. (današnje devojčice), odnosno 2069. godine (današnji dečaci).
Znamo li kako će svet izgledati tada? Znamo li šta ta deca treba da znaju? Znamo li šta se od njih očekuje u drugoj polovini XXI veka?
Ne znamo.
Nisam siguran da iko od ljudi koji vode obrazovanje, uzevši u obzir dinamiku promena u svetu u kome živimo, može predvideti budućnost za period duži od 10 godina. Kako ćemo ih onda obrazovati?
Oslanjajući se na dosadašnje iskustvo odgovor je tu pred nama. Obrazovaćemo ih kao danas ili kao 1911. godine, a onda ćemo na njih prebaciti odgovornost za neodgovarajuća znanja i rešiti problem uvodeći pojam celoživotnog učenja.
Čitav obrazovni svet se danas ponosi otkrićem celoživotnog učenja. To je savršeni pronalazak za neadekvatno obrazovanje koje dajemo mladima u prve dve do tri decenije života. Za učenje, najvažnijem periodu njihovih života.
U stvari samo smo pronašli odgovarajući pojam za društvenu pojavu. Pojavu da svi moramo da učimo i posle dvadeset godina škole.
Da li tako priznajemo da je današnji obrazovni sistem beskoristan ili u najmanju ruku neadekvatan?
Da. Generacije odraslih sopstvenu odgovornost za loše obrazovanje prebacuju na nove generacije uz to zahtevajući vrlo dosledno da deca do kraja nauče sve ono što im nije potrebno ili bar ne znamo da će biti.

Dr. Valentin Kuleto is the director and founder of the Information Technology School (www.its.edu.rs) and IT High School (www.iths.edu.rs). Dr. Kuleto, who holds a doctoral degree in economic science, gained years of valuable managerial experience working in top and key management positions in various renowned companies. He successfully headed and brought to fruition a large number of corporate software and e-business projects, and implemented various software solutions in institutions of higher education. His idea of a broad application of e-marketing, especially in the sphere of education, gained wide attention. Many business software solutions were designed under his supervision – Human Resources Information System (human resources management software), Content Management System (portal management), Business Information System (enterprise management software for small and medium companies), to name some.

Dr. Kuleto’s engagement in the sphere of education is primarily focused on the promotion of the engineering profession, a prime mover of trade and industry development, and society as a whole. His efforts are constantly aimed at improving the general quality of education, research, and development within the ITS (Information Technology School) and LINK group Company.
Dr. Kuleto published and presented several papers on domestic and international symposiums related to e-business, design and application of education software, and distance learning.
